The Oklahoma Film Rebate that the state gives to movie makers who shoot here expires this summer, I think extending it for several years as proposed by a couple of lawmakers is a no brainer.
Here's what you had to say, Sean first: "We've already lost out on movie business with the rebate issue (Kevin Durant film). It's time to stay proactive vs reactive in this season of growth for our state."
But another Shawn in Guthrie writes: "..the money sounds good but Hollywood deals in smut. I say if you make clean wholesome movies, welcome to Oklahoma, if not, go away."
Debby from Edmond says: "We should absolutely continue the rebate. Local actors and camera people get to work on these films!'
From Tuttle, Marcie writes: "The Oklahoma Taxpayer needs a tax break instead of the film companies."
Billie says: "I saw Meryl Streep on ELLEN and when asked about Oklahoma she stated she couldn't believe how beautiful it was as she always thought it was flat and desolate.
From Dalene: "It's too bad that they couldn't get Saving Grace filmed here. The producer tried to get them to do it but filming in Canada was cheaper."
Finally, Jean in Oklahoma City writes: "Do we really want Hollywood? I think we get enough of their negative influence already. Just sayin..."
