Firefighters Put Out Grass Fire Near El Reno

Firefighters have put out a grass fire that shut down parts of Interstate 40 west of El Reno Monday afternoon.

At about 3 p.m. crews shut down I-40 westbound and eastbound lanes at mile marker 119 due to the grass fire and pickup fire.

No homes were in danger.

Crews extinguished the fire at about 3:30 p.m. Both westbound and eastbound lanes of I-40 are back open.
