TULSA, Oklahoma -

The state Department of Transportation says three historic bridges, including two in northeast Oklahoma are available for adoption.

The three, located in Jefferson, Ottawa and Tulsa counties are being replaced and ODOT says they will be given, at no cost, to anyone willing to relocate the old bridges and maintain them.

The Jefferson County bridge is located on Highway 79 over the Red River. ODOT says it is a 1939 camelback pony truss bridge measuring 2,255-feet in length.

The Ottawa County bridge is located on Highway 10 over the Spring River. It is a 630-foot long 1952 Warren Deck truss bridge and is only one of five such bridges still remaining in Oklahoma.

And the Tulsa County bridge is a K-through-truss type structure located on Highway 11 at Hominy Creek. ODOT says the bridge is 405-feet in length. It is set to be replaced in 2017.

State officials say if interested, you must submit a written statement of interest with details on how the bridge will be moved and maintained.

Letters of interest must be submitted by March 3, 2014, to:

ODOT Cultural Resources Program
111 East Chesapeake
Norman, Oklahoma 73019

ODOT says if the bridges cannot be adopted, they will be demolished.
