EDMOND, Oklahoma -

A train is the suspected culprit behind a large grass fire that has flared up in a dense area of Edmond, Thursday evening.

Both Edmond and Oklahoma City fire crews were called to the scene, located along the railroad tracks that run parallel Broadway Ext., near Memorial and Kelly, in Edmond.

The fire is in close proximity to homes and businesses in the area, most notably right near the Home Depot and Academy sports store. Crews are working furiously to contain the blaze.

No damage has been reported to any of the building in the area, however, a person who works at a BMW dealership close by tells News 9 one car was lost to the flames.
