Thought the Dust Bowl was in the 1930s? Some photos released recently by the Cimarron County Conservation District might make you think twice.

Photos of a towering wall of dirt that bore down on Cimarron County from southeast Colorado are being circulated by the Oklahoma Mesonet environmental monitoring system. A dust storm swept through the Boise City area as a cold front moved through, sweeping away the 70-degree temperatures on Sunday, January 12.

Gusting north winds brought colder air and dust to drought-plagued western Oklahoma.
