MAYES COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Check out this viewer-submitted video of the Locust Grove Fire Department in Mayes County rescuing a deer stuck on an icy pond this week.

The viewer says firefighters attached a rope to their small boat then used tools to pull it onto the ice. They worked their way behind the deer, then other firefighters pulled them back to shore, pushing the deer with the boat.

Once close to land the deer sprang up and ran into the woods, apparently unhurt.
