Altus Girl Rushed To Hospital After Being Bitten By Dog

A little girl was attacked by a dog and rushed to an Oklahoma City hospital on Friday.

Police in Altus say the 7-year-old girl was bitten on the face by a pit bull/chow mix. The dog's owner, Kevin Lawrence, says the girl was playing with his kids in his backyard at the time.

"I don't know what happened. I just know that the little girl was standing on my dog's chain, and the next thing I know, she got bit," Lawrence said.

Lawrence admits he has been cited in the past for letting his animals run free and not getting them vaccinated for rabies.

Right now, the dog is under quarantine.

Police have not identified the young girl. Her condition is unclear at this time.
