TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police say an elderly man died of his injuries after being struck by pickup in North Tulsa. The 74-year-old man was crossing Lewis at the 5400 block just before 4 p.m. Sunday, December 29, when he was hit by a Chevrolet pickup, according to Officer Leland Ashley with the Tulsa Police Department.

The pickup continued on and hit a utility pole, Ashley said.

"At this time we believe alcohol possibly was involved on the part of the driver of the vehicle," he said.

Police were notified of the pedestrian's death at 8:13 p.m. They have not released the name of the victim or the driver.

"I believe the driver is still in the hospital," Ashley said Monday morning.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed as yet, he said.
