Tis the season for some of the most absurd crimes of the year. One man was arrested for stealing a toy helicopter for drug money. Another man sits in jail for stealing potato chips, but it doesn't stop there.

We see the best and worst of people during the week of Christmas. Unfortunately, the holiday spirit didn't stop several criminals from committing armed robberies and home invasions.

"To do something like that before Christmas, he had to be hungry," said robbery victim, Kenneth McArthur.

Hungry and high is how Head Honchoz hair salon owner Kenneth McArthur describes 23-year-old Corneilyus Howeth when he burst in the shop Monday night pointing a gun and said "Either you're going to give me anything or you're going to die today."

It's similar to what an Oklahoma City woman says a thief told her Thursday morning.

"And he said ‘Give me your vehicle and keys or I'm going to kill you,'" said Dawn Wilke.

That man was 54-year-old Phillip Smith, a career criminal accused of breaking into a man's home at knife point before police arrested him.

Then there's 48-year-old Richard Jeter, arrested for allegedly stealing a remote-controlled helicopter from a gas station on May and Britton. He told police he was planning to sell it for crack.

In Cushing, police arrested 20-year-old Justin Catron for allegedly stealing five bags of potato chips, then pointing a pistol at the store clerk.

Back at the hair salon that was held up in OKC, the owner says the armed robber moved so slow that one man was able to grab his gun, the rest of the workers took down the suspect, beat him out of his clothes, and dumped him outside, then they called 911.

"Because I wanted to make sure he didn't have anything else on him after we disarmed him, I took all his clothes off of him," said McArthur.

Thankfully, none of the victims if any of these crimes were hurt. But the armed robber at the barber shop was taken to the hospital with injuries before being booked in the Oklahoma County Jail.
