I'm probably one of a handful of Americans who has NEVER seen the cable TV show Duck Dynasty.

But since just about everyone is talking about the controversy surrounding Phil Robertson's remarks about homosexuality, I'll share a few thoughts.

GQ magazine had to know the kind of response they were going to get when they asked Robertson about homosexuality. He spoke his mind based on his faith, whether we agree with it or not.

From what I hear about the show, the fact that the Duck Dynasty family is so open about their Christian faith is one of the big draws for their millions of loyal viewers.

But the A&E network suspended the family's patriarch from the show indefinitely after his remarks.

I think this is so transparent and amateurish on the network's part.

If they'd had any sense they would have said, "We as a network disagree with what Phil Robertson said, but we respect his right to do so."

Period.

Less is more.

But they didn't.

So now they either stand firm on their convictions or they're going to crater

now that the entire Duck Dynasty family, a huge moneymaker for A&E, is balking at going on with the show without their patriarch.

My money's on the network cratering, and hoping their duckies come home.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
