Suspect Sought For Bank Robbery Inside Bethany Grocery Store

Police are on the lookout for a suspect who robbed a bank in a Bethany grocery store, Wednesday afternoon.

The robbery happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the Bank of Oklahoma inside of the Homeland grocery store, located at 7101 NW 23^rd St. in Bethany.

According to police, a white male in his mid-30s entered the store and approached a teller at the bank. He said to her, "This is a robbery. I have a gun. Give me all your money." The suspect also threatened to harm the woman if she did not comply.

The teller filled a plastic grocery bag with an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled from the store on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as being between 5'7" and 5'8" tall and weighing about 160 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes with purple soles and laces. He was wearing a red bandana and flip-up sunglasses to cover his face. He also had bandages or tape to conceal his finger prints.

The Oklahoma Banker's Association offers a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of anyone robbing a member bank.
