Police rushed to a residence in Enid and discovered a shooting victim lying in a pool of blood in a bedroom.

Just before 7 p.m. on December 16, someone called 911 and reported a man needed an ambulance at a house in the 400 block of W. Walnut. When police arrived, they found 43-year-old David Richard Wimmer lying face down in a bedroom. He'd been shot in the chest.

Paramedics declared Wimmer dead at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Oklahoma City for an autopsy.

Police say Wimmer's death is being investigated at a homicide.

Enid police say they have arrested 66-year-old Michael L. Berdahl in Anthony, Kansas, in connection to Wimmer's murder.

Police say David Wimmer was actually visiting an acquaintance who lived at the home when it appears the two got into an argument. That acquaintance has been identified as Berdahl.

Enid police say Berdahl was actually arrested in Anthony, Kansas, on drug charges and police say they did find a weapon on him and that he admitted to the shooting.

Turns out, it was Berdhal's roommate who found Wimmer and called 911 for help.
