Police have released cell phone photos showing at least two people walking along Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks in north Tulsa prior to a crash and derailment on Friday.

Police say a BNSF crew took the photos just before their locomotive was involved in the collision near Dawson and Yale early on the morning of December 13, 2013.

The crash and resulting derailment tore up a two-mile stretch of railroad tracks and damaged multiple rail cars, a locomotive and dozens of new Kia automobiles loaded on the train.

BNSF Railway Police believe someone tampered with a parked train's air brake system.  The runaway rail cars crashed into a BNSF locomotive which was arriving in Tulsa from Chicago.

BNSF is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for tampering with the parked train.
