A body was discovered in a rural area of Tuttle, Okla., Sunday afternoon, and investigators are trying to determine if it is that of the man who went missing in the area in early December.

According to the Grady County Sheriff's Office, the body was found around the area of Frisco and Richland Roads at approximately 5 p.m.

The state medical examiner will make an official determination as to the identity of the body, however, it was found close to where 32-year-old Tuttle resident Christopher Lane was on Sat., Dec. 6.

Lane was last seen walking down a street near his family's home. A ping on Lane's phone led investigators to a rugged area, located approximately one mile from the home. Search dogs followed Lane's scent to an 8-foot deep, ice-covered pond.

Again, authorities have not identified the body that was discovered, and did not say how or where the body was found. No other information has been released at this time.
