An elderly man says his daughter attacked him when he told her to stop singing so loudly in the bathroom.

On December 7 around 5 a.m., the victim called police to his home in the 9100 block of N.W. 101st Street, which is southwest of Hefner and Council Road. The 77-year-old man told police he was awakened early that morning when his daughter, 45-year-old Regina Ponder, began singing loudly while on the toilet. The victim said Ponder had consumed nearly two bottles of wine the night before and was intoxicated.

The victim said when he asked Ponder to be quiet, she attacked him. He said she tried to claw the sleep mask off his face and began "wrestling" with him.

The victim said he was eventually able to get Ponder to her bedroom. He said he held her down on the bed until she fell asleep, and then called 911. When police arrived, they saw the victim had scratch marks and bruising on his face and one forearm.

Police woke Ponder and tried to question her. Officer said she repeatedly mumbled and gave incomprehensible answers. Police arrested her and booked her into the Oklahoma County jail for domestic abuse and assault and battery.
