Marti's Fruit Salad

2 large cans fruit cocktail, drained

1 large can mandarin oranges, drained

1/2 cup chopped pecans

2 cups whipping cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla paste

4 egg yolks

3 Tbsp cider vinegar

2 tbsp. Sugar

In a small saucepan, over low heat stir together the egg yolks, vinegar, and sugar till thick. Remove from heat to cool. Whip the whipping cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla paste till stiff peaks are formed. In a large bowl combine the fruits. Once the egg yolks are cool whisk into whipping cream. Fold whipping cream into fruit. Sprinkle with nuts and serve.
