A group devastated by the Moore tornado is on the road right now. They're headed to the Midwest to help tornado victims in Illinois.

The volunteers are part of the Hope Raisers organization, which jumped at the chance to help the storm victims in Illinois. Members say instead of staying home for Thanksgiving, they want to Hope-it forward.

"Really there's nothing better to do on thanksgiving."

No turkey or dressing for this group of volunteers as they pack dozens of boxes. Each one filled with gifts and letters for tornado victims 10 hours away in Illinois.

"Things could've played out a lot differently, we might not have been here at all, so I mean, we're thankful that we're here," said Amber Kriesel.

Amber and Nathan Kriesel lost their home in the May 20 tornado. They just got a new home in Moore and used it store to supplies for the Illinois victims.

Box by box, this group of Hope-Raisers packed their vans to the brim. But more than these material possessions, they're bringing emotional and spiritual support.

"So we'll be there for two days just ministering and just reaching out to the people there and try to help them heal from there current disaster situation," said organizer, Alise Newby.

"We were just given so much after this happened to us, that all of us as soon as we heard about it, we just wanted to go be that for somebody else because we know what they're going through," said Kriesel.

The group hopes to arrive in Brookport, Illinois by midnight. They'll be staying at a church in Kentucky a few miles away, and plan to be back in Moore on Sunday.
