OKLAHOMA CITY -

OG&E crews have restored power to thousands of customers who suddenly lost heat and electricity Wednesday morning.

The power went out around 6:00 a.m. for 4,800 customers in northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond. The company initially said it didn't know what caused the power loss.

After some investigation, OG&E determined a mechanical issue complicated by the wind caused the outage. Power was restored to all customers by 9:30 a.m.
