Power Outage Near Quail Springs Mall

OKLAHOMA CITY -

A blown transformer has knocked out power in the Quail Springs Mall area.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department was called to a blown transformer at 3111 Quail Springs Parkway. The blow sparked a fire at a switching stations.

Crews are working to repair the transformer. 1,300 customers are without power in that area. There have been no reports of injuries.

Just after 3 p.m. power has been restored at the Quail Springs Mall. Stores at the mall are open for business.

We are getting reports that traffic is starting to back-up in the area due to the traffic signals not working.  Avoid the area if possible.

The issue is expected to take crews a couple of hours to resolve.
