CLINTON, Oklahoma -

A Clinton man was arrested, accused of killing a puppy and dumping its body in a dumpster at an apartment complex.

Police arrested 34-year-old Roger Lively Jr. after a witness told them about the crime. The witness told police she found the mixed breed puppy and brought it over to Lively's apartment. She said Lively let her put the dog in the bathroom while she was there.

After a while she went to check on the dog and it nipped at her. Sometime after that the witness told police Lively went into the bathroom. She then said she heard the dog squealing and then stop. After that she said Lively brought the dog out of the bathroom, its body was limp, its head was turned backwards and it was still whimpering.

Lively then took the puppy's body to the dumpster and cut its throat since it was still alive. Later the witness returned to the dumpster and took a photo of the puppy in the dumpster and showed the photo to police.

Lively was booked in the Custer County Jail. Details of a bond were not immediately available.
