The University of Oklahoma volleyball team registered its third consecutive victory, and 17th in the all-time series, with a 3-1 win at Texas Tech on Wednesday evening. The Sooners improved to 21-7 overall and 9-5 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders fell to 9-21 and 2-12.

The win four-set victory came by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 22-25 and 25-18. The Sooners came from five down in the third, using a 6-1 run, to tie the set at 22, but Texas Tech avoided the sweep with three straight points to close out the set.

In the fourth set, Oklahoma trailed 15-10. Coming out of a timeout, the Sooners used an 8-1 run to take an 18-16 lead en route to claiming the set and the match.

"It was a great win on the road, we needed to win on the road," stated coach Santiago Restrepo. "Hopefully we can continue that because we are going to need to play a lot better on the road to beat West Virginia [next Wednesday.

"We weathered the storm in the third set, but stayed calm and collected and did a very good job at the end to get the win."

Senior middle blocker Sallie McLaurin led Oklahoma with 19 kills and six blocks. For Texas Tech, Breeann David recorded a match-high 22 kills and 11 digs.

Five Sooners finished in double figures for digs with sophomore libero Taylor Migliazzo leading the way with 19. Senior defensive specialist Eden Williams posted 15 digs, her first time in double figures since October 12 against Kansas State, despite playing only three sets after dislocating her left pinky in warm-ups. She also recorded the 900th dig of her career.

"Eden is a tough cookie," Restrepo said. "We are going to miss her leadership along with her on-court contributions and everything that she means to our program."

Sophomore setter Julia Doyle also recorded 15 digs and dished out 43 assists for her fifth double-double of the season, while seniors Keila Rodriguez and Mindy Gowen recorded dig totals of 14 and 10, respectively. Oklahoma set a season-high for digs in a four-set match with 91.

Sophomore Kierra Holst and redshirt-freshman Madison Ward tied for second on the team with 11 kills, apiece.

For the Red Raiders, Emily Ruetter matched Doyle with 43 assists of her own and added 14 digs for the double-double. Libero Rachel Brummitt led all players with 36 digs.

The Sooners return to action next Wednesday, November 27 at West Virginia before heading home for the regular season finale against Kansas on Saturday, November 30.
