Jury Selection Set To Start For Del City Officer Charged With Killing Teen

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the trial of a Del City police captain charged with manslaughter.

According to court papers, 48-year-old Randy Harrison was trying to arrest 18-year-old Dane Scott Junior after a car chase on March 14, 2012.

Harrison reportedly took a handgun from Scott during a struggle. When Scott ran away, Harrison fired four shots, the last one hitting Scott in the back.

The affidavit says Scott was unarmed at the time.

Harrison is a 23-year veteran of the Del City Police Department.
