A group of Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts spent Thursday morning making the day a little happier and less frightening for children at OU Medical Center.

The scouts from Oakdale School in Edmond personally delivered hundreds of stuffed bears to patients at The Children's Hospital. The two troops teamed up and collected the toys as part of their service project called "Scouting for Bears."

Throughout the summer, the scouts asked friends and local businesses to donate the stuffed animals. The toys would be given to children at the hospital to help ease their fears and nervousness.

The scouts had a goal of 400 bears, enough to supply the hospital for one year. But the troops collected 1,600 bears, enough to comfort kids for several years.
