The first 10 minutes of Wednesday night's game against Idaho were some of the worst the Oklahoma men's basketball team has played so far in this young season. Poor shooting, bad defense, and an overall sluggish attitude led to an early deficit for the Sooners.

Fortunately for Oklahoma, the next 30 minutes were much better, as the Sooners got their act together and cruised to an 85-65 win over the Vandals Wednesday night at Lloyd Noble Center.

Cameron Clark led five Sooners in double figures with 14 points. Buddy Hield and Ryan Spangler each scored 13 points while Tyler Neal and Je'lon Hornbeak both came off the bench to score 12 points apiece.

The Sooners led just 29-27 with four minutes to go in the first half, but used an 11-2 to close the half up 40-29. Oklahoma continued the onslaught in the second half, scoring on their first five possessions en route to a 16-5 run and a 56-34 lead with 13:44 to play in the game.

Hield, who had posted career-highs in points in each of the Sooners' first two games of the season, had just two points on 1-of-5 shooting almost halfway through the second half. Starting at the 12:07 of the second half, Hield scored 10 of the next 12 OU points over a five-minute stretch to help the Sooners stretch their lead and put the game away.

Glen Dean had 14 points to lead the Vandals, which shot just 30.6 percent from the field after the first 10 minutes of the game, finishing the game at just 36.7 percent. Sekou Wiggs had 11 points and Perrion Callandret had 10.

The Sooners did a great job on the offensive glass, turning 15 offensive boards into 17 second chance points.

Oklahoma will face Seton Hall next Friday in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in Brooklyn, N.Y. If the Sooners win, they will likely face soon-to-be No. 1 Michigan State the next night.
