Firefighters are on the scene of a fully-involved house fire in Spencer.

The fire started around 2:15 p.m. in the 4200 block of Lenox Avenue. Everyone safely escaped from the house.

Because the fire was so intense, crews went into defensive mode and fought the flames from outside the structure. Crews also had to truck in water to fight the fire.

The fire caused significant damage to the house, and the structure may be a total loss.

It's not known what started the fire.
