Oklahoma State improved to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in conference play on Saturday with a 42-6 shellacking of Kansas at Boone Pickens Stadium. Here are some key numbers from the victory:

25 – Oklahoma State honored Barry Sanders at halftime for the 25th anniversary of his record-shattering Heisman Trophy season in 1988. Sanders, a Kansas native, had arguably the most remarkable Heisman campaign ever with 373 carries for 2,850 yards (7.6 yards per carry) and 42 touchdowns. He set 23 NCAA records that season that still stand.

6 – Justin Gilbert opened up Saturday's contest in style by taking the kickoff back 100 yards for a touchdown. It marks the sixth kick-return score of Gilbert's career, which ranks No.1 nationally among active players.

283 – That was the total yardage for both the Jayhawks and the Cowboys after the third quarter. However, big plays on special teams and key stops helped OSU lead 28-3 despite having the same yardage.

20 – Oklahoma State has now scored 20 or more points in 47-consecutive games dating back to the 2010 season opener. That streak leads the nation and is also the second-longest streak in NCAA history behind Southern Cal's 63-straight games from 2002-06.

17 – OSU's Kevin Peterson intercepted a Jake Heaps' pass in the first quarter, giving the Cowboys at least one forced turnover in 17-straight games.

31 – The Cowboys have now scored on at least one touchdown drive lasting two minutes of less in 31-straight games and 46 out of their past 47. OSU achieved this feat on all six of its scoring drives against KU.

9 – Desmond Roland scored twice on Saturday, giving him nine scores in the past three games, which are also the first three starts of his career. He scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Pokes a 14-0 lead. He then pushed the lead to 21-0 when he snagged a 19-yard touchdown reception on a wheel route early in the second quarter. However, it was Roland's least effective start so far with 16 carries for just 44 yards, or 2.8 yards per carry.

265 – Clint Chelf had his second-straight solid passing performance with 265 yards through the air to go with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He did struggle a bit with consistency, completing just 51.3 percent of his passes, but he avoided tossing a pick for the first time in the past four games.

0 – Speaking of Chelf's zero-interception performance, Oklahoma State avoided turning the ball over at all for just the third time this season and the first time since Sept. 7 against UTSA. OSU is now 18-0 under coach Mike Gundy when it doesn't have a turnover.

202 – The Oklahoma State defense gave up a season-worst 202 yards to the Jayhawks in a bit of a puzzling development. OSU entered the game ranked 19th nationally in run defense, allowing just 122.9 yards per contest, while KU ranked just 96th in rushing offense at 134 yards a game. Junior running back Tony Pierson did the most damage with 87 yards on just six carries for 14.5 yards a pop. But the Cowboy run D stiffened in the red zone, not allowing KU to reach pay dirt.

2 – Oklahoma State wide receiver Tracy Moore had his way with the Kansas pass defense, turning two of his game-best six receptions into touchdowns on fade routes in the corner of the end zone. He also had 77 yards, tying for his second-best outing of the year. His two TD catches matched his season total to that point.

8 – The Cowboys earned their eighth win of the season by beating Kansas, giving the Pokes at least eight wins for sixth-straight seasons, extending the school record.
