The father of a severely injured baby who was at the center of a police search has been arrested.

The child was taken from OU Children's Hospital on July 31, 2013, before doctors could treat his broken bones. Michael Dominguez was booked Monday in the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of child abuse.

According to the arrest warrant, his baby boy suffered bleeding around the brain, skull fractures, side skull fractures, two broken arms, a broken leg, multiple rib fractures and bleeding injuries to both eyes.

Investigators said his crimes date back to this summer when something happened at the Rodeway Inn and Suites near I-40 and Rockwell.

The mother, Ruby Mitchel, told police she "laid the baby down on the bed to take a shower" and when she came back, he was "on his stomach" and wouldn't wake up.

Surveillance photos showed the two-and-half-month-old baby arriving at OU Children's Hospital with Mitchel. In another photo, Dominguez is seen standing near the hospital entrance.

Before doctors could fully treat the baby, they said Mitchel and Dominguez left with the child.

Doctors said the baby's injuries could kill him and police had no way of contacting the parents.

According to the arrest warrant, the family fled to Dallas and Mitchel's mother eventually called 911 because of the child's injuries.

The baby was taken to Children's Hospital in Dallas for treatment.

It is unclear if the baby's mother will face any charges.
