An Oklahoma City woman was killed and a child was critically injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 35 near Ardmore Saturday afternoon.

It happened at 5:10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35 at mile marker 28, one mile south of Ardmore in Carter County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1995 Chevy Suburban driven by 21-year-old Stephanie Roxanne Engle was southbound on I-35, when it ran off the roadway to the left, overcorrected, and ran off the roadway again to the right.

The vehicle then rolled about three to four times before coming to rest on its wheels.

Engle was pronounced dead at the scene. A 2-year-old girl, who was in Engle's vehicle at the time, was transported to OU Medical Center in critical condition, suffering from head and leg injuries.

Another passenger in Engle's vehicle, a 11-month-old girl, was transported to Mercy of Ardmore and was treated and released.

Troopers say all three were wearing seat belts. Engle's condition at the time of the collision is unknown at this time. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
