All lanes of eastbound Turner Turnpike are now open, following a semi-truck fire at Hiwassee Road near Luther.

Around 2 a.m., the back tires of the truck caught fire on the Turnpike, shutting down all lanes of traffic. The fire damaged the back of the truck, which was hauling pistachios and other nuts. The driver was the only person on board and safely escaped.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed down all access to the Turnpike eastbound at the I-35 ramps while firefighters put out the flames. Traffic backed up while OHP worked to clear the scene.

Around 5 a.m., one lane of traffic reopened. All lanes of traffic were reopened by 10 a.m.
