Members of the News 9 team participated in a softball tournament that benefits the family of an Edmond officer who died of a heart attack.

The softball tournament took place Sunday morning at Mitch Park, located at 1501 W Covell Rd. in Edmond.

Organizers say all the money raised from the tournament will benefit the family of Edmond Police Officer Matt Terry, who died of a heart attack on October 3.

Terry served 19 years for the City of Edmond and the Edmond Police Department as a patrol officer and detective. He leaves behind his wife and teenage daughter.

Besides News 9, several other organizations also took part in the event, including the Edmond Police Department, the Edmond Fire Department, FBI, Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, and Edmond schools.

The event raised a grand total of $20,628.
