Troopers say a husband and wife in an all-terrain utility vehicle were pinned and dragged when the ATV flipped over on its side. Both are in critical condition, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Terry Lee Tyree was driving a BMX UTV 500 at about 6:33 p.m., a few miles outside of Bernice in Delaware County. His wife, Marjorie Ann, daughter Susan McNabb and a 4-year-old granddaughter were passengers in the vehicle, a collision report states.

As the ATV went downhill, it started to sway back and forth then flipped a quarter turn on its side. Troopers say the Tyrees were pinned under the vehicle and dragged for about 40 feet. They were freed after about 20 minutes by the Monkey Island Fire Department.

The Tyrees, both 59, were airlifted to a Joplin hospital where they are said to be in critical condition with head and other injuries. Their 36-year-old daughter refused treatment at the scene for a leg injury. The 4-year-old girl was not injured.

Troopers say Terry Tyree was in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck, and the cause is still under investigation.
