OKLAHOMA CITY - Police are on the lookout for a suspect who fled on foot after a short car chase in northwest Oklahoma City, Thursday night.

It started as a routine traffic stop near 837 NW 95th St., just after 8 p.m.

Authorities say shortly after making contact with the suspect at the traffic stop, that person took off and attempted to run over the officer on scene.

The car chase lasted only a couple of blocks before the suspect crashed the vehicle, then took off on foot.

Police have Air One and K9 units one the scene while they search for the suspect. A description has not been released at this time.
