OU Volleyball Takes Down TCU In Five Sets

Sallie McLaurin had 23 kills to lead the OU volleyball team to a 3-2 win over TCU on the road.

The Oklahoma volleyball team won a tight match on the road Wednesday night against TCU, holding off the Horned Frogs, 3-2 (-16, 17-25, -22, 21-25, 15-9).

OU middle blocker Sallie McLaurin was the star of the match for the Sooners. McLaurin racked up 23 kills on a .537 hitting clip to lead the Sooners. She also had six blocks, tied for the team lead.

Outside hitter Kierra Holst had 17 kills for the Sooners, which hit .237 as a team for the match.

Julia Doyle had a double-double with 50 assists and 16 digs. Taylor Migliazzo led the defense with 25 digs.

Ashley Smith led three TCU players with double-digit kills with 17. Yvonne Igodan had 12, while Natalie Gower had 11.

Shane Peters had 27 digs and Sutton Sunstrum had 18 to pace the defense.

The Sooners grabbed the first and third sets to take a 2-1 lead, but the Horned Frogs rallied to claim set four and force a deciding fifth set. OU raced out to a 12-6 lead in the final frame before coasting to a 15-9 win.
