The Canadian County Sheriff's Office takes down two suspected child sex predators. It all happened during a two day sting operation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, or ICAC.

The sting operation began on Thursday, October 17, and by Friday evening 39-year-old Jeremy Wayne Gibbs of Oklahoma City and 46-year-old David Paul Duclos of Moore were behind bars.

"If we didn't catch them, they would still be doing it," said Lt. Adam Flowers with ICAC. "If I was really a 14-year-old, most likely they would come out and still do what they intended."

According to Flowers, what they intended to do was have sex with a minor. Lt. Flowers and his task force set up the sting operation online, where Flowers himself posed as a 14-year-old girl on a popular web chatting site. And then he waited. The suspects came to him.

"Mr. Gibbs immediately started sending very explicit sexual text messages to who he thought was a 14-year-old and even tried to set up a meeting that night," said Flowers.

Gibbs didn't show up for the alleged meeting. But Duclos did. In fact, surveillance video from the Reno Cinema in El Reno shows Duclos waiting in the lobby Friday night, allegedly to meet the 14-year-old girl he had been texting. Instead, he was taken down by law enforcement.

"There could have been a real 14-year-old waiting," said Flowers. "These predators, they become bold and unfortunately more times than not, it's not law enforcement on the other end, it's an actual victim and it's an actual child."

That's why Flowers said parents must remain vigilant.

"It's very important that parents become parent and they monitor their children's activity on the internet, on their cell phones. There are programs that kids use that parents may not even know they are using."

The sheriff's office is now obtaining search warrants to take the suspects' cell phones and computers to find out if there are any real victims to their alleged crimes. Both Gibbs and Duclos face charges of soliciting sexual content with a minor by use of technology.
