Southmoore High School Band Invited To London New Year's Day Parade

MOORE, Oklahoma -

One Oklahoma band has been invited to London to take part in a New Year's Day parade and festival.

The Queen of England herself has invited the Southmoore High School Band to march and play for the Queen and others in attendance.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenancy of Greater London will leave from London to make the trip to the Southmoore campus to make the official announcement. That will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

    Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin said Tuesday afternoon that a 15-year-old boy shot 14 people Tuesday morning at a southwestern Kentucky high school. Two of the victims, a 15-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl, died. Five others suffered non-gunshot injuries, the governor said. The suspect in the incident at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, has been apprehended, according to officials with Marshall County Emergency Management.
