Fundraiser Tonight For Injured OKC Police Officer, UFC Fighter

Family, friends and colleagues of an Oklahoma City police officer who was injured in a car crash are putting on a fundraiser Friday night in Choctaw to help fund his recovery.

Matt Grice suffered a traumatic brain injury September 8 when another car slammed into the back of his vehicle near Shawnee. He was off-duty at the time of the crash.

Grice, who is also a UFC fighter, had to undergo brain surgery. Friends say because he's been unable to work, his medical bills have piled up and created a financial strain on his family. Grice is married with two children.

A fundraiser will be held Friday, October 18, at Charlie's Sports Grill located at 14530 N.E. 20th Street in Choctaw. It begins at 6 p.m. The event will feature several local bands, and include a silent auction.
