OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Oklahoma City Police Department canceled a Silver Alert after a missing elderly man was found safe Thursday afternoon.

Roosevelt Stevens, 76, was last seen leaving the V.A. Medical Center at N.E. 13th Street and N. Kelley Avenue. He never returned home, so police issued a Silver Alert for him Friday morning.

Stevens drove away from the hospital in his tan 2002 Chevrolet Impala. It has an Oklahoma license plate bearing the number 756-BPL.

At about 4:30 p.m. Friday, police say Stevens was found on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike just north of Chickasha. He is safe.
