An Oklahoma City man was arrested earlier this week for taking a picture up a woman's skirt at a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in The Village.

Officers say the suspect ran, but he did not get far from the store located at Pennsylvania Ave. and Britton Rd. According to court papers, the victim chased the suspect out of Wal-Mart while she was on the phone with police.

The suspect, Jesus Hernandez, was still in the Oklahoma County Jail late Wednesday. Hernandez is facing a felony sexual battery complaint. He is also accused of violating a Peeping Tom ordinance.

On Monday, police say Hernandez took out his phone, put it under a 24-year-old woman's skirt and snapped a photo.

"She felt something up against her leg," said Deputy Chief Steve Jagosh of The Village Police Department. "At that point in time, she turns around and sees [Hernandez] standing up and as he's standing up, he's putting the phone back up to his face acting like he was talking to somebody on the phone."

Police say the victim confronted Hernandez and chased him for five blocks down Britton Rd. during the afternoon rush hour.

Police later found Hernandez hiding in a nearby neighborhood. The OSBI is looking through Hernandez's phone for evidence. Officers say Wal-Mart surveillance video will help in the investigation.

If convicted, Hernandez will have to register as a sex offender.
