Authorities have given the 'all clear' after discovering a suspicious device near a retirement community in northeast Oklahoma City, Wednesday afternoon.

OKC fire officials were called to the scene of a small fire at 1225 N. Kate Ave. when they discovered the device.

The Wyatt F. Jeltz Senior Center near 11th and Lottie Ave. was evacuated while authorities worked to identify the device. The Oklahoma City Police bomb squad was also called to the scene.

Approximately 250 tenants were evacuated from the south tower, and relocated to the north tower. They have since been allowed to return.

Bomb squad members checked the device to see if it is a threat. In the end they determined that the object was a metal pipe with two end caps on it. It was then deemed safe and investigators cleared the scene.
