Veterans around the nation are joining in solidarity with hopes of opening the nations' parks.

Here in Oklahoma, those who couldn't make the "Million Veteran March in Washington" gathered at our state's Veterans' Memorial.

Rock Lyons organized Sunday's event. He says he's disgusted with the budget games being played in Washington and how it's affecting veterans and active duty service members.

"Closing of outdoor memorials is ludicrous. Not paying the families of deceased service members who've died since October 1st. All of these things are totally unnecessary," Lyons said.

Lyons spread the word through email and Facebook. About 100 people came out.
