Some Oklahomans are experiencing issues while trying to use their SNAP cards on Saturday, as there was a power outage at the data center of the company that handles EBT cards.

Xerox, the company that handles the EBT cards, had a power outage Saturday morning at its data center. The outage was temporary.

The company is currently rebooting the system. Some users are still having problems as of Saturday afternoon due to a delay.

Officials say it did affect people nationwide who tried to use their food stamp cards on Saturday.

Xerox spokeswoman Karen Arena confirmed via email Saturday afternoon that some EBT systems are experiencing temporary connectivity issues. She said technical staff is addressing the issue and expects the system to be restored soon.
