Escaped Cotton County Inmate Captured Near Walters

WALTERS, Oklahoma -

An escaped inmate from the Cotton County Jail was apprehended near the town of Walters, Okla., Thursday afternoon.

Robert Lee Turk was discovered missing from the Cotton County Jail early Monday morning. At the time Authorities told Lawton television station KSWO that Turk "somehow managed to open the lock on his cell and break down a door to escape the jail."

Turk was being held on a felony count of shooting with intent to kill. It was the third time he managed to escape from the county jail.

Thursday afternoon KSWO reported that the Cotton County Sheriff's Office captured Turk five miles northeast of Walters, near Trail Rd. He was taken into custody without incident.

No other information is known at this time.
