More than four months after the May 20 tornado, one Moore family says it's being victimized again. This time, the family says, it's not a natural disaster.

Family members say they're out thousands of dollars after being scammed by an out-of-state contractor. The contractor in question is one who is not on a list of registered contractors with the city of Moore. He tells News 9 he hasn't been back to Oklahoma in months.

When the May 20 tornado roared through Moore, a home Susan Stoker owns and shares with her family was in the twister's outlying path. Stoker says a man named Gary Miller was in her direct path.

"He's really hurt us bad," Stoker said.

The house needed some patching up, including the roof.

"He did no work on the inside," said Stoker. "He halfway got the top done, and he ruined the air conditioning unit but didn't replace it or anything."

Stoker's daughter, Arah Henry, says the whole experience left them emotionally and physically uncomfortable.

The family says, after being charged for incomplete work, they're out roughly $9,000 and have been threatened with a lien on their home.

Over the phone, Miller told News 9 that the family is just looking for attention and they're the cons who owe him more money.

In a voice message Miller left the family, he says he's not backing down.

"You have to pay… whether it's with your house or out of your back pocket, I don't care," Miller said.

Both sides have hired attorneys.

Miller is not part of a company and isn't headquartered in any one state.
