Blake Bell, Josh Stewart Win Big 12 Player Of The Week Awards

NORMAN, Oklahoma -

For the second straight week both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State had a Big 12 Player of the Week. OU quarterback Blake Bell was named Offensive Player of the Week and OSU receiver/punt returner Josh Stewart was named Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Last week it was OSU quarterback J.W. Walsh and OU safety Gabe Lynn who took home the Player of the Week accolades.

Bell established career highs by completing 27 of 37 passes (73.0 pct.) for 413 yards and four touchdowns in Oklahoma's 51-20 win over Tulsa.

The Wichita, Kan., native did not throw an interception and posted a 202.4 rating. He also ran 10 times for 24 yards. Bell's 413 passing yards were the most by an OU quarterback in his first career start, passing Sam Bradford's record of 363 yards vs. North Texas (9/1/07).

Stewart scored on a 67-yard punt return and took a second punt back 41 yards to set up an OSU touchdown in lifting the Cowboys to a 59-3 win over Lamar. The junior speedster finished with 114 punt return yards for the eighth-highest single-game total in Oklahoma State history.

His 67-yarder marked OSU's first punt return for a touchdown since Josh Cooper had a 66-yarder against Troy on Sept. 11, 2010. It was also OSU's longest punt return since 2009.

Oklahoma State has now had a player named Big 12 Player of the Week in each of the first three weeks of this season: Caleb Lavey (Defense, Week 1), Walsh (Offense, Week 2) and Stewart (Special Teams, Week 3).
