A Tulsa bus driver accused of assaulting the principal of Key Elementary School has been fired.

Steven Browder was terminated on Monday, and was not eligible for a due process hearing, because he'd been with Tulsa Public Schools for less than a year.

Police say, when principal Doug Howard intervened in an argument between Browder and teachers, Browder pushed Howard back and he fell down the steps of the bus.

Howard wasn't seriously hurt, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

TPS says the principal has the final say when a bus is on school property.

The investigation will go to the District Attorney for possible charges.
