Tulsa Police arrested a man for shooting his roommate and pistol-whipping his mother. Cody Ray Trisler, 22, is in jail for shooting with intent to kill and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police say they were called to the 1400 block of West Archer Street just before 6 p.m. Thursday to investigate a shooting.

They learned Trisler and his roommate had apparently gotten into a fight over stolen property. Trisler shot his roommate in the leg with a small caliber pistol and ran from the area, according to police.

Trisler's mother intervened, and her son hit her in several times with the pistol, police say.

Officers staked out a bike path between Archer and Gilcrease Museum Road. They arrested Trisler without incident. The 27-year-old roommate was treated and released from a hospital.

Trisler is being held on a $200,000 bond.
