Authorities have canceled an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old Cherokee County boy. The child has been found and is in DHS custody.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office issued the Amber Alert for 3-year-old Kegan Manning after deputies were told by the boy's mother that his father, 24-year-old Johnny Michael Manning, forcibly took him during an incident Tuesday night near Lake Tenkiller.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. at 15719 West Flint Rock Road and is believed to be the result of a custody battle between the father and mother.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office canceled the alert and said the child is safe and in protective custody. No word on if the father faces any charges. The case is under investigation.
