A 28-year-old Broken Arrow woman has been arrested for attacking her own mother and attempting to run over neighbors who tried to intervene.

According to a police report, Lyndsay Renee Spegal appeared to be on drugs when her mother arrived to pick her up at 33rd Street and Memorial Drive on Wednesday night. The mother reportedly told police that Spegal was grabbing her throat while she was driving, which forced her to pull over several times.

Spegal's mother also said her 4-year-old granddaughter was in the vehicle at the time.

When the group arrived to their destination in Bixby, about 7 p.m., Spegal got out of the vehicle and wrestled her mother to the ground and took her keys, the report says.

Neighbors ran to the victim's aid and one man tried to help retrieve the child from the vehicle as Spegal was attempting to drive away.

"Spegal began to drive the vehicle in reverse in a reckless manner, and [the neighbors] had to jump out of the way to not be ran over," the report says.

The victim jumped in the back of the vehicle with the child, reached over the front seat and put the vehicle in park as it was moving, according to the report.

Police said Spegal ran from the scene and was tracked to her residence.

She was booked for child endangerment, domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor and two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Spegal also has an ongoing drug case in Tulsa County District Court.
