Monday is the deadline for victims of this spring's tornados and flooding to apply for FEMA assistance. Help is available for those in nine Oklahoma counties( Canadian, Cleveland, LeFlore, Lincoln, McClain, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie) who experienced damage between May 18th and June 2rd.

Storm victims have until midnight to apply for FEMA assistance and a FEMA spokesperson says they want to stress that storm victims should apply even if they have insurance, because in some cases they may still qualify for assistance on what insurance doesn't cover.

So far $55.5 million dollars in state and federal assistance has been approved. Of that nearly 14 million has gone to individuals.

That money goes to pay for uninsured disaster related expenses including temporarily housing, personal property replacement, and home repairs.

The number to register is (800) 621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585). The call center operates from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.

Registration is also possible online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or type in m.fema.gov on a smartphone.

Additional services may be available to help survivors including: free legal aid and counseling on insurance claims, landlord-tenant issues, home-repair contracts, consumer-protection matters and the replacement of legal documents destroyed in the storms (800-534-5243); and a Disaster Distress Helpline (800-985-5990).
