The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a man who died Tuesday night while in the custody of Lawton Police.

Police were called August 13 around 10:20 p.m. to a home in the 4500 block of S.W. G Avenue. The caller told 911 that 32-year-old Anthony Terrell Binder was "tripping" and causing a disturbance.

When the first officer arrived, he saw two men holding Binder down on the floor. After a second officer arrived, police turned Binder onto his stomach and restrained him. The department says after a few minutes, the officers noticed Binder wasn't breathing. The officers rolled him onto his back and began performing CPR.

Fire and ambulance crews were notified and arrived quickly at the scene. Paramedics attempted more life-saving measures, and rushed Binder to Comanche County Hospital in Lawton. Binder was pronounced dead at the hospital. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Oklahoma City to determine what caused his death.

Because Binder's death happened in police custody, the OSBI was called in to investigate. The officers involved were place on administrative leave, per department policy.
